4-H NEWS
Saturday, March 9th 10am-12pm is the next 4-H Meeting.
Edward Smith Library Community Room in Northford.
Followed by a meeting on Saturday, March 23rd from 10am-noon
where we will have baby chicks and discuss caring for chicks.
Location to be announced.
Please bring your sign up sheets filled out if you haven't already. New members welcome anytime from any town.
8 years old to 18 are welcome.
We will be building rain chains!!!!! (We will have an alternate craft for the younger children if preferred. No supplies required)

Rain chains can be made out of a wide variety of different materials. Some of them are more resistant to the elements than others, but you can make a rain chain from just about anything. Metal items or natural preferred. Here are some of the most common materials used for this purpose, plus what to expect as far as lifespan and behavior of your new rain chain and some examples to inspire you.
Metal Cookie Cutters Keys Old Chandelier Pieces Funnels Shower Curtain Hooks Small Flower Pots Old Spoons Old Costume Jewelry Old Tools Small Metal Buckets Shells Any neat old stuff
- BE CREATIVE

*****We are asking each child to bring some items they can use for their rain chain. Look around the house or go to a dollar store or goodwill store. Goodwill has a lot of little knick knack items that can be used.
****Also try to bring a pair of gloves. A wire cutter and pliars would be helpful (we will bring as many as we can). Scrap pieces of chain would be appreciated if you have any but we will supply as much as we can.
RSVPs needed by March 7th.
8-11 year old need to have a parent present to assist due to the nature of the project.

Email Northford4H@gmail.com or IM Kristen Collett for RSVPs or questions.
