Homesteading 4-H
I wanted my kids to be involved in a local 4-H group and I was surprised to find out there wasn't one in the North Branford/Durham area.
Being agricultural towns I thought a 4-H group would be perfect for the area.
My passion for all things Homesteading and farming has inspired me to start
a local 4-H group. - Jim C.

Our group will focus on several key areas of 4-H.

Activities Planned Revolve Around:
Gardening - Farming - Outdoor Activities - Cooking - Preserving Food - Food Safety - Raising Poultry - Pets - Wildlife - Survival Skills - Home Skills - Arts & Crafts - Re-purposing - Camping

We will adjust activities and projects to age and experience level.
​
We will plan 2 meetings per month. We encourage members to attend at least 1 meeting per month. Meeting will take place at numerous locations including, the local libraries, our home and local farms and establishments.
​
There may be some field trips and group events that will require parent volunteers.
​
Our main goal is to learn and have fun!!

KRISTEN COLLETT
Jim is a jack of all trades, Both of his parents came from farms and claims to be a born again redneck. His "real" job is in IT but his dream job is on a farm.
He loves doing carpentry, canning, cooking and re-purposing projects.
Kristen is passionate about gardening. She most recently worked at Natureworks Organic Garden Center. She loves raising chickens, cooking, doing floral arrangements and designing gardens.
